Christoffer Johnson of Therion entered a new path late 90’s with Therion. Of course Therion was one of the forefathers of Swedish death metal. After a decade the more progressive and gothic elements took over and made Therion the band it is nowadays. The death metal blood in Johnson was still running however and found a way out in the formation of Demoniod. The main goal was playing pure old school Swedish Death metal. Johnson was joined by his Therion bandmember Kristian Niemann on guitars (Sorcerer, ex-Snowy Shaw (live)) and completed by Johan Niemann on bass (Evergrey, Hollingshead, ex-Mind's Eye, ex-Tears of Anger, ex-Therion, ex-Tiamat) and Richard Evensand on drums (Ebony Tears, ex-Chimaira, ex-Sorcerer, ex-Therion, ex-Soilwork).
